5th wheel tips

Pick Up our new 5th wheel today. This is our first 5th wheel so open to any tips, suggestions, comments on owning/towing a 5th wheel. We did own a 24' TT for 3 years, so not total rookies.

Will have to remember the height. It is a foot or 2 higher than my TT.

Re: 5th wheel tips

Ken, if you have a video camera, video the orientation or make sure the dealer go's over everything. Open every cabinet, every door, turn on everything to make sure it works. Put enough water in to make sure all the water systems are OK. You will see most of the same systems as on the TT so your already halfway there. Check everything your can think of. Make sure the dealer go's over the hitch, hooking up and leveling and unhooking. Act kinda uneducated so you get a full explanation of everything even if you think you know. Then find a parking lot on the way home and play around a bit the 5ver will back a bit different but near the TT, but practice backing in the parking lot with nothing around, may save a embarrassing moment and/or damage. If you don't have already get a couple 6"x6" wood blocks for the front legs on the 5ver as this will save the lift motor running more than necessary and time.
Have fun with the new adventure.

Thanks Len.

Battery for the camera is charging. Had one wood block made for the TT. Will need to build another one.
