a/c problem

My dad gave us there 1992 rv that the a/c was used maybe 3 times.The lights on the wall contols do not light up.I have voltage at the a/c unit 120 and as far as I can tell I have voltage 22 volts at the unit.I don't want to replace the whole a/c unit unless I have to $$$$$.Can anyone help.

Will the fan run? Do you only have 22v at the ac? Have you checked the breaker? You also have to have 12 v at the wall unit. or your house batteries charged? Any of the 12 v lights work?

I think I found the problem.The thermostat has a low power bulb,the bulb has an open circuit in it,burned out.I think it is the ground for the circuit .I will know here in a little bit.
