Adjust RV awning

Dometic RV awning has inner and outer support arms so that when traveling the outer arms fit over the inner arms. Sadly, my awning has somehow slid rearwards in the slots provided in the round spring housing. Tried releasing tension on the awning while applying spray silicon to two slots in spring housing. Does not work. Any ideas?

We have jerked very HARD and moved the fabric in some tubes, but it is not easy as you have splines in 2 tracks that hold the fabric in place, and they do a good job. IF your fabric has been changed in the past, I can see that the fabric might not be locked in place.
