brake controller

Has anyone installed an electric brake controller on their RV to control the electric brakes on a trailer? I hooked my trailer up to my 1999 American Dreams by Fleetwood and I guess it is sending 12 solid volts back to the plug. Must be wired to the brake lights or something. Anyway, I need to install a brake controller and have no idea where to hunt down the wires for it easily. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum. The brake controller should come with instruction on the wiring.

Welcome,
If you have your manual it will tell where and color codes. If not the harness should be bundled on the steering column.
Most RV shops can wire the controller in for a very nominal fee.

What type of tow vehicle do you have? My Dodge Cummins Diesel came with an extra wiring harness just for hooking up a brake controller.
