Carrier No longer making RV A/C units

Just called a local RV store looking to replace a rooftop A/C on our RV. Rear unit is out and I wanted to match the front Carrier Unit. Adding a heat strip, too.

He told me as of last fall, Carrier is no longer in the RV A/C business.

He does not have any and cannot get any more of them. Only units for sale are the ones stores already have in stock.

I am going to buy a new one on-line. With shipping it is still much cheaper than an equivilant model by the other manufacturers.

cougarkid,

Did not know that. If carrier is out of the business just to be on the safe side I'd get a new thermostat and maybe one extra card.

Only reason I say this is I was bit by Dometic when they went from the 4 button comfort control system to the 5 button. Parts were not interchangeable so when the 4 button goes/went kaput you are strong armed by dometic to buy a new thermostat and 2 cards about $500.
