Cat verses Cummins

Have several friends with Diesel Pushers and they are saying to stay away from Cat's can someone tell me why they are telling me this???

I don't mean to sound like a smarty pants, but why don't you ask your friends why they are telling you this? I'd be curious as to what they say. There's no real big problem with Cat engines I'm aware of.

Most likely they own the "C"word. Really both great motors. Most of the Cat, don't ,comes from Cat not building over the road motors anymore because of emission issues. They still build and service any of the motors and parts are available.

The Cat vs Cummins argument goes on and on. If purchasing a coach I would not hesitate or let that be the determiner in my purchase. Both are great engines and owners have a very loyal following with each. I've had Cummins in both of my M/Hs and have Cats in my boat. I agree with C Nash of parts being a little steeper for the Cat at least in my experience.

Len also has a valid point seeing how Cat got out of the M/H and OTR business.
