I am looking at a short Safari MH> It has a chevy 6.5 "pathmaker" deisel. Are the Chevys a good engine. I have found two of these MH with 40k miles. Is Safari tech a good model? I mean in terms of longevity. I would just like opinions as I did not even know that Chevy made a diesel.

Stick with Duramax if you are into Chevys. The 6.5s are problematic with oil leaks, fuel pumps and weak cranks.

Thanks, after the quick post I did some research and found out that the chevy deisels had problems and the safari techs also do not ride well and have had lots of problems. Ended up buying a Nemar gas coach.

I think you made a wise buy. Although I don't own one, I do think they are good MH. Good luck on the road.
