HiLo Oven

I have a question for any HiLo owners: After lighting the pilot, should it only take about 1 minute for the main burner to light? We just purchased a 98 model, and when I wanted to use the oven, it wouldn't light. It didn't come with an owner's manual, so we ordered one online which doesn't include any detailed info on the stove or fridge. Can anyone offer any thoughts on this? You never gave us the make of the stove......

Guessing.... light the pilot. Wait a minute or two ... make sure it keeps burning brightly. Now, with everything close to the pilot heated up turn the oven control on.... toward 250 or so. You should see the pilot brighten slightly and the main burner should start.
