Hyd. Vers. Elec. Slides ?

Hello all
I'm interested in a used 5th wheel. Wanted to ask what is better? Elec. Slides with seperate Switches Or Hyd. That Have shut off valves to turn on or off each Slide?

welcome to the forum Gene. Guess it would just be a personel preference. Maybe GTS or Rod will be on to give an opinion. They work on them so maybe they will have a better idea which might be best. Electric motors go out, mine just did but hyd can leak and I think they have to have some type electric pump to work the hydrulics. Might not be as much strain on the hyd electric mtr as the electric motor that actually works the slide.

In my opinion, I choose Electric. I have seen hyd. lines leak and I have only had to replace ONE elec. motor.
