What does everyone think about the glut of inexpensive generators on the market? I believe the bulk of them are from China. I've searched the web and Ebay and find the 1000-3000 watt inverter units all look alike and have very similar features but not much on warranty (i.e. parts and labor). The price on these units is very attractive, somwhere around half the cost of a Honda or Yamaha. Are these units any good. I know that you get what you pay for but is there an exception in some of these products. The names I keep running into are Kipor, Carrol Stream, Maxtra, Buffalo, Sportman and GX. A lot have been sold according to some research on Ebay but I havn't run into anyone with first hand knowledge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wish there was some way we could stop buying "Made In China" products. ... Sigh ... :dead:

Personnaly I would buy the Honda/Yamaha. However, if you absolutly need a "made in China"gen, Kenneth at Grandview Trailer Sales sells the Kipor generators and seems to think they are pretty good.
