Our first long trip

We are planning our first long camping trip. We will be leaving western South Carolina and the farthest point north will be Gettsburg, Pa. Then we want to make our way to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and then back home. We can be gone as long as two weeks. Anyone have any suggestions?? Of course, we do not want to drive too far each day.
