My wife can no longer help unhitch our trailer because of health. When I have to move the truck a half inch or so because the hitch is binding on the trailer pin, I found that attaching a spring from the slide handle to the truck bed to pull it works great. As soon as the hitch is not binding , the hitch disengages. Thought this may be of help to others.
