Restorable 1971 Airstream. To buy or not to buy...

Ok. Here it goes. Wife and I are looking to purchase a used (restorable) trailer. We have our sites on one and will be heading to get it tomorrow. It is a '71 Airstream. It has been 'gutted'. We're not sure what to look for to make sure its not just a waste of time and/or money. Any thoughts would be helpful.

What do you mean when you say gutted? Can be very expensive to redo the inside back to what it used to be. I can put you in touch with someone that could supply you with any AS part for that model. Airstream was a great unit and I had a 71 and we loved it. Guess my first question would be why was it gutted? Guessing someone was going to restore and found it to expensive. The 71 has not reached what I would consider a vintage model YET. ALMO Welcome to the forum and keep us posted on what you do
