Rialta Transmission question (VW Eurovan)

My engine light came on with a p0740 code meaning there is some possibility that at some point there may be a problem but the issue has not occurred enough to be a problem (relates to the torque converter). No one offers me a solution, not even the VW dealer, but the engine light remains on. They tell me to keep driving until I have a problem! The vehicle passed the Texas computer engine inspection in both 2008 and 2009. I am not sure if it will in other states. Is there a cure for this other than replacing the transmission?

It is a 2000 Rialta on a 1999 VW Eurovan chasis. The engine is the VR6. The Rialta runs fine and gets good gas mileage. I want to sell it, but it scares potential buyers who think the transmission is going to fail any second. The light has been on more than 2 years and more than 15,000 miles. The Rialta has 96,000 miles.

Any suggestions??

Re: Rialta Transmission question (VW Eurovan)

I'm afraid the transmission you have is not common in motorhomes, so the chance of getting an answer to your question here is not likely.
