We will be driving an Excursion 39L towing a GMC Acadia. There is a cutt off on 80 at Oasis which goes North of the Great Salt Lake and looks as if it would save some miles. Does anyone know if this road is suitable for our rig? We will be travelling mid May.

thanks!

Yes you could take that road. It has a lot of small towns along it and its a slow drive but it would save some miles as for time 80 to 15 cutting off at Brigham 89/91 would be faster but would also have more traffic. Good luck and enjoy your drive.

Thanks for your reply - is it slow because of the mountins, or just because of the many small towns?

The roads themselves and the small towns. You may see a lot of farm vehicles this time of year as well. They grow a lot of onions and potatoes in that region of Utah.
