short bed towing

Being brand new to the rving community I have a question about a tow vehicle that I am considering. Iam looking at buying a ford f150 super crew 4x4 and there is some confusion as to whether this vehicle can tow a 5th wheel. Does any of the community have an answer for this? The last thing i want to do is buy the wrong tow vehicle, Thanks,Al

What size 5th wheel are you planning on towing? I do not personally like a short bed for towing but it will work with a slider hitch. Welcome to the forum.

NO, THE F-150 SUPER CREW WAS NOT DESIGNED TO TOW A 5TH WHEEL. Ford will agree, maybe not a salesman, but the factory. The first rule of hitch installation from Reese and Draw-tite is that you MUST have a 6' bed.

There is a hitch by Super Glide that moves automatically. They claim they have a hitch that will work in that truck, but it is expensive and you still are towing a 5th wheel trailer with basically a cars frame.
