Slide Toppers

In the process of buying our first fifth wheel. The unit we have decided on does not have slide toppers. Are they something we should consider? Are they worth the additional cost? How long might they be expected to hold up before they would require replacement?

Re: Slide Toppers

Welcome to the forum Robert. Yes they are worth it IMO. Keeps the leaves and debri off the slide. Some have had to replace as soon as 2 yr but think that is not the common. Guess would be ever 7 to 10 year if properly cared for. With no topper you will need to sweep off the slide if you park under trees. Pine needles will really collect. I have had both and would not have a slide w/o a topper. When and if you have to replace you can replace just the fabric. AJMO

I agree 100% with Nash. You will also keep the water out when you have to pull your slide in while it is raining. ;) And yes, welcome to the forum.
