Stinky!!

Hi,

Can someone help us understand what this smell is? We have had our 2008 sunset trail for 4 months now and all of a sudden when you turn on the water it smells like "rotten eggs". IN addition sometimes when you run the shower there is a "metal" smell. It does not last all that long for either scenrio but does anyone know what this could be and why all of a sudden it is happening?

Sounds like your hot water tank. Drain it and rinse it out good. Get a hot water tank wand at Wal-Mart that connects to the end of your water hose and is made to insert into the hot water drain plug. Rinse the tank good. Fill your fresh water tank and put a cup of bleach in it and fill your hot water tank with the bleach water and run the bleach water through all your water lines. Let it sit for 3 or 4 hours and drain both the fresh water tank and hot water tank. Now fill your fresh water tank and dump a box of baking soda in it and then pump then water into your hot water tank and run it through your water lines. Let it sit for 3 or 4 hours and drain. Now rinse both tanks and water lines out with plain water. Hopefully this will help.
