My husband and I are travel writers, doing a feature on RV camping. We will be doing a round-trip circuit in August from Chicago through Wisconsin, Michigan's U.P., and lower Michigan, with a 7 day duration and 3 boys in tow (11, 13, and 16). We know lower Michigan very well, but need some suggestions for places to visit in Wisconsin and the U.P. that really capture the 'outdoor spirit' you feel when camping. Our boys are adventurous and willing to try new things. High on their lists are river tubing, river rafting (especailly if there are a few rapids ((mild-ish, as the youngest is a bit 'tender')) ), horseback riding, ATV-ing, biking (rentals necessary), fishing, and 'anything that isn't shopping or a museum'. I would be so grateful for your experience, and any suggestions for places and/or outfitters that would fit the bill!
