thermostat ?

Hi
the wall mounted temperature setter (thermostat) on my tt makes a noise when it's about to shout off and it wakes up my wife and daughter , can I go to walmart and buy a new one or does it have to be one specifically for rv ?

Carlos, you could try putting a 'cushion' layer between the thermostat and the wall to isolate the 'click' from being broadcast by the wall itself. That foam wrap that comes in sheets for shipping stuff might work.

Remember that your thermostat may run off of 12 volts DC. Also, my thermostat has several functions on it that are unique to my A/C and furnace setup.

You can't count on Wal Mart for everything. They won't have a thermostat for your camper.

It depends upon what type of thermostat you have and the particular air conditioner, does it have heat strips in it? Also, does it share the thermostat with the furnace, or are there separate ones? Some of them can be, others can not. Most can be converted if you know basic electronics.
