Our Toyota 4Runner isn't towable according to the dealer, but there are aftermarket products like drive shaft disconnect that are advertised as making it ok to tow. Anyone have experience with these aftermarket products? What are long-term effects on the towed vehicle, if any? Mike

I wouldn't do it if the dealer did not recommend it.

Don't forget the options of towing via a dolly (2 wheels off the ground) and car trailer (all 4 wheels off the ground)...

Mike the dribe shaft disconnect works fine on a two wheel drive vehicle. It works off a slip spline that is controled by pulling a cable generall located under the driver seat. You can ck with Remco to see if they offer one for the Toyota. Just put remco in a search engine.
