Does anyone know the towing capacity of a 38' 1994 American Eagle diesel pusher? I called the company and they told me "about 5,000 lbs" which I found impossibly low. We need to tow a 28' trailer that is about 8,000lbs loaded.

Thoughts on being able to do this?

I would believe the company. The heavier the MH the less towing ability. Gross Combination Weight, GCW. I have a 37' and my towing weight is 3000 lbs. My hitch weight is 300 lbs. So I would imagine your hitch weight will be 500 lbs. The newer MH are as high as 10,000 lbs. I tow a Jeep Wrangler and I am 275 lbs over my GCW but that is within 10% so I am happy.

On my drivers door, in the bedroom closet, and on the receiver, I have stickers with the GVW and GVCW. You might look around your home you should have one also. :)
