TRAVELING SANTA FE TRAIL, COLORADO & NEW MEXICO

We have never been to this area of the west, we are from PA. Can anyone give any ideas on what NOT to miss in our travels? We are planning on visiting Dodge City, KS, Carlsbad Caverns, NM, Truth or Consequences, NM ( we love hot springs), Mesa Verde National Park, Co, Pikes Pike, Co, Black Canyon, Co. If youhave any good campgrounds we should stop at that would be great.

ThANKS :)

Garden of the Gods campground in Manitou Springs outside of Colorado Springs.

Don't miss going up on Pike's Peak. Whether you take the tram or drive, it will take your breath away ... literally! :clown:

Oh my, you are going to LOVE the West...just hang on to your steering wheel ;) . WIND

Like Tex, we also loved Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak (Randy drove while I held my breath). Both totally amazing.

If you visit New Mexico, we highly recommend Enchanted Trails (I-40 service road). They are close by a casino which has a buffet that is pretty good. Also conveniently located next door to Camping World which can come in handy while traveling.

Ok, here goes, anyone who knows me knows I will recommend the Grand Canyon. I truly LOVE the place and cannot get enough. There are other National Parks in the general area which include Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, and Zion. All wonderful and plenty of campgrounds set up for us RVers. If you have enough time (and gas ;) ) you could venture further north and visit Yellowstone.

Randy and I hope you have a wonderful, fulfilling and safe trip. Post back to let us all know how it went.

Gosh all this traveling talk is getting me anxious....Summer COME ON!!! :)
