I just got a 68 Volunteer travel trailer and noticed a few people on this forum have them, although their posts regarding them are a couple years old. I would like to exchange info on our trailers if anyone has one. I am looking for pictures of volunteers since I am trying to restore mine and cannot find any info or pictures to duplicate exterior and interior looks..thanks so much

RE: volunteer travel trailer

I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT A MIDAS VOUNTEER 24 FOOTER.
HAVE NO CLUE AS TO THE YEAR. MAYBE 1966 IF I'M READING THE INFO ON THE TONGUE
RIGHT. FIRST NUMBER IS USUALLY THE YEAR? WHATEVER IT IS, IT CAN'T BE OLDER THAN
1981--THE YEAR MIDAS STOPPED MAKING THEM.

I'M THINKING THE WEIGHT ON THIS BAD BOY IS AT 4500 - 5000 LBS(?)

THE SKIN IS IN GOOD CONDITION.
STOVE IS PROBABLY O.K. AS FOR THE REST WHO KNOWS.
THE ONLY THING THAT'S REAL GOOD IS THE PRICE ($500.00)
IT'LL BE A BIT OF WORK...GOOD THING I'M A CAREER CARPENTER.

I HAVEN'T QUITE BOUGHT IT...
ANY INFO AT ALL WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

MY GENERAL QUESTION ON VARIOUS POSTINGS IS TO TRY TO DISCOVER THE BASIC QUALITY OF THE TRAILER.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GO AHEAD AND RENOVATE THIS ONE?
WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS HAVE YOU HAD?

I HAVE A PDF OF AN OLD ADVERTISEMENT THAT SHOWS YOU A BIT OF THE MIDAS.
(I DON'T THINK I'M DISPLAYING AN E-MAIL. CONTACT ME THRU THE FORUM AND I'LL FIGURE OUT HOW TO FORWARD THOSE TO YOU)

THE TROUBLE IS I CANN'T FIND ANY INFO ON THESE TRAILER.
(THAT'S MAINLY WHY I'M HESITANT ABOUT BUYING IT.)

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW...
