Wax on decals

Hi

Heard that a petrleum based wax could crack or
fade decals on RV. A water based wax is better.
Also a wax with a heavey cleanin agent could be
harmful.
Your thoughts? Zymol is a water based cleaner
and wax.

Is a 303 Aerospace protectant the way to go?
