rubber

Hello, my RV’s windows and roof edge rubber had peeled off ( it was in storage for nearly a year in the hot summer of Palm Desert CA ) and I didn’t maintained it for years. is it better to just seal these areas with caulk or silicone? Or just replace the rubber!? Which one would be more durable...
