3/4 ton vs 1 ton for pulling a 5th wheel

[RVJOE] HERE WE GO AGAIN, IT ALL DEPENDS ON WEIGHT OF THE RIG AND LENGTH....I HAVE A 33 FT. 5TH AND PULL IT WITH A FORD 350 DUALLIE DIESEL...WITH A 4"10 REAR...IT WOULD BE STUPID TO USE THAT TRUCK TO PULL A 25 FT. 5TH WHEN A 1/2 TON WOULD DO.
DO MORE RESEARCH

[Nash] Joe,
Guess I fall in the stupid catagory. I tow a 28&#039 lite weight fifth wheel with a dually (3500 chev diesel). Towed the same unit with a 1/2 ton chev and would never go back. A 3/4 ton would tow fine but I like the stability of the dually and the breaking. Research and talk to owners of both. Good luck

[Jim M] Joe: agree with Nash, it is really hard to have too much truck. There is a big safety payoff too. But, would point out that it comes with a price though, gas mileage, rougher ride when not towing, maneuverability in parking lots etc. Jim
