5th Wheel Large Back Window Shades

We have a 2003 Alpenlite with the large rear window, and have been having problems with the two pleated shades. We travel with the shades pulled up all the time, and the strings on both shades have broken. We are in the process of having them restrung, and are wondering if anyone has advice on whether to travel with them up or down? Any input would be greatly appreciated !!! Brian

We had the same problem with our unit and this is how we solved it.
Either travel with the Shades down, which is the easiest or
use velcro to secure the shades in an upright position while travelling. This involves a little enginuity but in the long run is no doubt the best solution to this problem as there is no extra stress on the strings or the mounts.
