we just purchased a used 5th wheel(2000 fleetwood wilderness)with one slideout & we're considering signing up for a "mechanical breakdown service contract(Western General)" for about $300/year. would appreciate hearing your experience with these contracts,or any other comments you may have.our main concern is reliability of slideout. thanks,jim

Jim, I have owned two with slides and never had any kind of problem but, like anything else it's there so it could give problems. That said, I do not care for the service contract because of all the small print. Put the 300 in the bank. I have not had any dealings with Western General but most all seem to be about the same. Put extended warranty in search and you can get a lot of different opinions. JM2CW
