87 4runner for a toad

Anyone have experience towing a '87 4runner? It is our "fish wagon" and we hope to need it every where we go. The Toyota site doesn't show towing requirements that far back. Has standard transmission, 4wd, power steering. We will to behind 2004 Coachmen Class A, gas.
Trying to get complete setup for as little as possible.

My wife had a '96 and the owners' manual said not to tow it. I suspect it has to do with the automatic fron hubs, but I'm not sure. Really couldn't say about one that old. Perhaps a good Toyota mechanic could tell you.
