About what is a normal charge to cut a key without blank

I needed this done the other day, about 150 miles from home. After
I lost the keys to my GM based Class C. They charged me $134 w/tax.
Seems kinda high to me. So I just be wondering.

well it does seem high, but remember most shops charged anywhere from 85 to 150 an hour for work. And they will add on service charge if they come to you also.

IT might seem high but, take into consideration his travel time to and from plus all the tools including the van involved(overhead). Everything seems high to me anymore. 99cent hamburger now cost $4 LOL! Always seems high when its the other guy's wages.

If it was a locksmith service call it was reasonable. Would have been nice if you had road service. might want to look into joining one
