I have a 2001 Winnebago Journey DL with a 6 speed Allison Transmission and a 330 Cat engine. When I try to put it into reverse the engine dies. I would restart the engine and try again and the engine would die. It goes forward and shifts smoothly thru the forward gears.

do you have good 5th and 6th? I have never heard of this before. Does it go into reverse then shutter and harsh kill engine and what is your idle rpm? please reply to me at work since i do not answer questions here no more i just came to look after having 6 months off LOL

Yes, I have 5th. and 6th. gear. It will go forward and shift into the forward gears smoothly. When it goes into reverse it does not shutter and harsh kill the engine. It is just like if you turned the ignition switch off.
