I am new to all this and bought a 1995 coachman 28' 5th wheel it has electric brakes on it i was told you are not supose to back a trailer with electric brakes pluged in because it will burn them up. Is this true or not......

Re: Backing with electric brakes

Never heard this. I have owned several TT with electric brakes and never unpluged to back up. If adjusted correct, I see no problem. It wont hurt anything if you do. I have seen some that tend to grap while backing up but, figured the drivers were probably riding the brakes as we tend to do while backing AJMO. Welcome to the forum :approve:

The brake controller should have instructions on how to adjust it. As for the trailer brakes, make sure they don't drag when not applied, both in the forward and the reverse direction.
