I made several trips down I-55 and Hwy 23 to Vinice LA.
The last trip I made back up I noticed the front of my 5 th wheel was drooping some.
When I go home and began to unhook, I found that the front crossmember where the hitch is attached was bowed up about 4 inches. urther investigation revealed the hitch ah torn away from the 5 by 2 tubing in the frons and crushed part of the 5 x 2 tubing in the rear.
So much for Louisiana roads and by the way I was traveling at 45 to 50 on the interstate to help prevent the see sawing motion.
I am replacing the 5 x 2 x 1/8 tubing with 5 x 2 x 1/4. My thought is that it will spread the load odt instead of concentration it.
Has anyone else had a problem like this
