If you bought it with the diesel engine, you might tend to go with a diesel generator. However, that is going to add extra weight to an already weight limited vehicle.
Definitely go with gas if you buy the vehicle with a gas engine.
Decide how much you are planning to use the generator, also. If not much, then LP might be OK to get.

The propane is great because it dosen't require as much maintenance as the gas generator. However, if you use it a lot it will burn through the propane. But then, Propane is cheaper right now than gas per gallon. I like my propane generator.
