Dometic fridge (again) - Part 3

O.K.,
So I know my Dometic RM2310 is getting plenty of heat in the flue but it's still not getting cold on the inside.
I took it to Camping World and had a chat with the tech who would have worked on it had I left it.
He said if I'm getting enough heat in the flue and it's still not cooling I need a new cooling unit.
He said the cooling unit was about as much as a new fridge ($700 +/-).
I found a place on line that sells cooling units for this fridge that the Amish make.
They're $440 with a $100 rebate for the core.
I'm thinking of going this route and installing it myself. Anyone have any experience/expertise/comments in this area.
BTW, I took the 12v heater for this fridge to camping world and asked them to test it. They said it was bad.
I took it home and as an after thought hooked it to a 12v battery and almost burned my hand. Conclusion: the heater wasn't bad.
Also, while we're on the subject of Camping World, my Onan 2800 took a long time to start. Took it to Camping World and they sold me a new carburetor. Still takes a long time to start.
