Easy Route

I'm looking to get from Montgomery Alabama to Townsend, TN and would like to avoid going up 85 out of Birmingham. Does anyone know a better route. We will be traveling at night and are worried about gas station being closed. Thought about 411 out of Gasden and taking it all the way to Maryville but didn't know about gas. Where will you be leaving from and how are you traveling? I-85 goes from montgomery to Atlanta so you need to go I-65 to Birmingham, I-459 around to I-59 and on to I-24 toChattanooga,I-75 to Knoxville or you can get off at the Lenoir exit before Knoxville to go to Townsend. Go to mapquest and get directions for nearest route. 411 is not a bad drive if you are in no hurry. Gas should be no problem. Last time I was up I-59 it was terrible lot worse than the Alaskan Highway. Right lane north would beat your rv to death. May be fixed now.
