Enclosing 5th wheel bottom

I have a older Kit 5th wheel. The bottom of the trailer is not enclosed. I have been told that enclosing the bottom would help out with mileage. What type of material I should use to cover the bottom?

I am not sure about the mileage issue but some sort of 20 to 30 mil HDPE would be my suggestion. I was considering attaching rigid foam to the underside of mine and covering it with 20 mil HDPE to help with cold floors.
