Enough Truck?

I have a 2005 Dodge Quad Cab 3/4T with CTD. The GAWR for the rear axle is 6010 with a curb weight of 3868 lbs. The 5er I'm looking at has a hitch weight of 2130 lbs. If I understand the calculation you add the curb weight and the hitch weight to determine total on the axle. Adding those up comes to 5998 lbs (without considering the weight of the hitch). Is this too close to the gross to be safe? Don't know much about 5th Wheels, we currently have a TT. Want to move to a 5er but want to be sure I understand the limitations of my tow vehicle. Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes, the measurements are close but the Fifth wheel should be positioned 2-3 inches in front of the axle which throws some of the weight to the front axle. I don't know what Dodge says, but Ford and GM say 15-20% in their literature, so that gives you some breathing room with weights.
