Gasoline / Diesel rebates up to $.50 per gal.

Skyrocketing fuel prices put a serious crimp in our travel plans this past summer. We were about to put a for sale sign on our rig until my stockbroker told me about FuelZone. The $38.50 cash rebate we just received is awesome. It cut my average per gallon fuel cost for the month of August to $1.348. Not too shabby. I also got a great price on a set of tires from the same people. If you want to know more, they gave me a website where you can read all about it: http://www.walterfranklin.fuelzone.com

This is not a solicitation. It's just a really good deal. Use the information however you see fit.

Happy RVing,

Hi Big Wally,
If this is not solicitation, why is your home page listed as walterfranklinfuelzone? Not slinging any rocks, just asking a question. Not enough fuel zone stations in this area yet so could not us it personally. Have one about 40 miles north and haven't seen that many while travling. Surely if it 's a good deal there are others that benfit from it. Lets hear from them and don't be to hard on us that don't believe anything that sounds to good to be true :)

Hi Chelse,

Your points are well taken and deserve an honest response. There are no "fuel zone stations." FuelZone is a program similar to Costco or Sam's Club. People become members, and they receive rebates and discounts on gasoline and a wide variety of products. Every member gets a website of his/her own.

I could have hidden my membership, but I wanted to be "up front" about it. It doesn't matter what kind of gasoline you purchase. The rebate applies to all brands.

I received my first rebate check yesterday. In the past I've often driven out of my way to save a few pennies on gas. Now, I'm saving more than $.35 a gallon. All I do is save my receipts and mail them in at the end of the month. The majority of the members are in North Florida, because it has been test-marketed in Jacksonville for the past seven months. It's now available in every state in the country.

If you had a really great experience at some campground, wouldn't you spread the word? A good movie? A restaurant? Bank of America gives you a free toaster if you refer a new customer to them. Would you reject Bank of America because someone referred you to them? Wouldn't that be cutting off your nose to spite your face?

You decide whether you want to pay $1.729 or $1.349 for gasoline. I tore up the for sale sign on my rig. Decide, but don't shoot the messenger! My website has my home phone number and email address. Feel free to call or write...

Big Wally and Tom Rogers,
I just checked my website and I see no reference to any porno site. If there was one there I apologize and have no idea in the world how it could have gotten on there. I certainly did not put it there! I notice that there is a banner at the top of the photo page - put there, I assume, by the website hosts. I did not click on it as I do not ever click on those banner ads. Is that the link you are talking about? If so, I will complain to the Irv2 administrator and try to find out what is happening. If it cannot be removed, I will close the web-page down and remove all references to it in my posts. I appreciate your bringing it to my attention.

Hi Barney,

Your website is a reflection of a very special family of the highest moral character. Unfortunately, you have been badly duped by the provider of that "free" website. Your experience is not unusual. I will try to help you by pinpointing the precise location of the link I referred to in my previous message.

Thank you Big Wally! I see what you are talking about. I am removing the reference to my web page as the next thing I do now. I will also complain to the site hosts about the link. I would appreciate it if you would edit your posts on this thread to remove any and all of the links to my website.
Thank you again for bringing it to my attention. It is too bad, many have complimented me on the page and it was fun to do.

Hi Barney,

All reference to that mess has been deleted. Things like that bring disgrace to the internet industry and are an embarrassment to all the professionals who are out there trying to create a better world through communication.

Big Wally my congrulations to you for the tactful and articulate way you called this to Barney's attention, once you realized he was being duped.

Barney I share your disgust for the picture you are obviously, and justifably proud of, for being used in such a despicable way. Rest assured I highly doubt if anyone will let this sorry eposide reflect ill of you or your family.

Thanks for the answers Big Wally. The Fule Zone had me confused (not hard to do) as there is a station called Fuel Zone on I65 north of Birmingham Al and I asumed these were the stations doing this. I haven,t researched this program but, will check into it.
Barney, if you like your web page keep it. Most of us understand these pop ups and pay no attention to them. Guess you could post on your home page that you do not have anything to do with the adds. :)

Good advise Chelse, except in this case all one had to do was run the cursor over the picture. I didn't see any ads and was about ready to forget the whole thing when I inadvertantly ran my curoser over Barney's family picture. The cursor changed from a "pen" to a "hand" indicating a link. Pressing the right mouse button put me (or anyone, 9 years old or whatever) in la la land.

Thank you, all of you , for your kind words. Thank you also to Big Wally for not only bringing it to my attention but for the removal of the refrences in his posts. I guess it was a good thing that I posted my "sarcastic" remark early on in this thread. Perhaps I was in error and should not have done so. I do not usually do those things but guess I just jumped to an early conclusion. Next time, I'll think before I type, but at least I found out about the link in my webpage!
I have contacted an official at the host website by e-mail and have informed them of what has happened to their members photo pages. I discovered that is was not only mine, but all that I checked, had the first photo of their web page linked to a "questionable" site.
Chelse, I cannot, in good conscience, let my website be viewed with that link in there. If they correct the situation, I will for sure put the link back in to my signature.

Boy thats mind boggling. It appears the internet needs rules and or laws. Similiar to driving; without speed limits, stop signs, traffic lights, etc. it would be a sorry mess. The sneaky underhanded way this innocent site was exploiated is what galls me. The internet is a efficent means of communication and exchange of ideas. Unfortunately it appears it is becoming corrupted by scam artists and pornographers.

There is a lesson to be learned. It seems that whenever someone makes a gesture to help or to share something positive with someone else, there will always be those who will either attempt to "tear it down" or "take advantage" of it. That fact keeps others from extending themselves. Would anyone who has been following this thread from the beginning have any desire to expose themselves to ridicule or exploitation?

I've been around the internet for more than 10 years and have witnessed the same situation in more forums than you could possibly imagine.

After I was "burned" by someone else's criticism the first time, I wanted to strike back. I wanted to put down someone else and make him feel the embarrassment and humiliation that I felt. I tried it and was even more embarrassed and shamed by what I had done.

Folks, we're all in this boat called "life" together. If we all try to paddle in the same direction, our passage will be smoother and more enjoyable.

Peace be with you...

Big Wally
