My wife and I are nearing retirement (a couple years out) . We have done some 5th wheel traveling with friends over the years and have decided we would like to snowbird over the winter in our own 5th wheel when we retire.
We have a short list of fifth wheels on our final list, and want a 1 ton dually diesel to tow with, but......how do people afford it?
With decent used 1 ton dually diesels that haven't been beat to hell or driven a bazillion miles averaging $60k+ and prices of used models of fifth wheels averaging almost 75k, how in the hell do people manage to swing it? Yeah $135-150k may not seem like a lot these days, but I'm finding that's just the cost of admission.... Then, add on all the extras (sewer hoses, pressure regulators, filters, maintenance) and costs go even higher. How do you do it??
