Installing new brake controller

I currently have a Drawtite "Activator" brake controller. I am going to switch to a "Prodigy". Is this going to be just a matter of mounting and of swapping wires (both are 4 wire hookups)?? Anybody have experience??

Yes the activator is a 4 wire connection as is the Prodigy. It should be quite simple.

I picked up this from one of these forum posts - no guarantees implied.

Tekonsha - Prodigy Wiring to a Ford harness
Harness . Prodigy . Location
------------..-----------..------------------------------------------
Red.......black......positive battery
white.....white......negative battery
green.....red.........turn on from cold side of brake light switch
blue.......blue.......output to trailer brakes
brown ... (not used, for illumination for some controllers - tape off end)

Cole-Good idea to switch because the Activator does not have an indicator light to warn you if your 7-way connector disconnects while you are towing. The Prodigy does have that warning light. Is that why you are changing? Bootsbuck  :)

Not really. I think that the Prodigy is a better solution and besides I like high tech stuff.
