we have a dutchmen 99 we want to add a shelf for the tv in the bedroom How do we know where the studs are Is there a trick to installing this type of shelf

I'd contact the manufacturer and ask them for a wall schematic. I know Winnebago has sent me water and electrical layouts for my older 89. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Another option is the good old studfinder for home use. You could also look at a flat panel TV, saves space and waaay lighter.

My 2 cents.
