Insurance Choices

I like Progressive, myself. I have an 85 Class C and full coverage with full timers for under $60/mo. That includes roadside and trailer coverage. I've had it on cars in the past too. Someone hit and run my parked car in a parking lot where my car was damaged a far amount on the driver's side fender and they fixed it under hit & run coverage and didn't charge me the full deductible, I guess since I used the official Progressive repair center.

I recently had an issue where DEF was accidentally introduced into the fuel tank of my diesel truck, resulting in a full fuel system replacement estimate of approximately $16,000.

My insurer (National General) has indicated they may not cover this under comprehensive coverage. The dealership where I had my truck repaired mentioned that Geico and Progressive have covered this for their customers with no issues at all. They were very surprised to hear that National General declined.

I’m trying to understand how other carriers handle accidental fuel contamination claims.

For those who have experienced this, was it treated as:
Comprehensive (accidental contamination)?
Mechanical breakdown (excluded)?
Or something else?

Any firsthand experience with how Geico, Progressive, or other carriers approach this would be helpful.

How can an insurance company cover something you or someone else did incorrectly? If someone else is responsible they pay out of pocket.

Choosing the right insurance often comes down to understanding your needs and planning carefully to protect what matters most. That same principle applies in construction—teams like AMC Construction LLC, a trusted construction company in Columbia, TN, focus on thoughtful design and attention to detail to build homes that not only look great but also serve the lifestyles and needs of the people living in them. In both cases, careful planning and informed choices make a big difference in long-term peace of mind.
