How are you guys gettin internet service while campin? I really don't have a clue. Well I have my ideas but how is it really done? My wife found the computer as her new "best friend". Says she wants to get a laptop while on the road. I can see some use for it but what is the expense? I sure hope you don't have to by cell time. Do you guys go to the libs. or Kinko's? How is it done?

Thanks

Hi,
Well if you have a directv satelite that you take with you(I do)Then you could up-grade to their internet service. I think its 50.00 a month for unlimited....and screamin fast. Probably not worth it for just camping, but if you use it at your home as well, it might be worth it to you. Kinda spendy for the initial investment since you need a special dish and the modem thingy for the satelite. Just a thoought, Mike

We have a computer, and our home internet business has now allowed us the freedom to have a RV and travel, Our business will pay our way and will now pay for the RV. We will have income monthly to cover our travels and our lifestyle. I am more excited about this traveling lifestyle than Walter my husband, and am constantly trying to get people already RV'ing to tell him what it is like so send me your wonderful exciting adventures, so he will want a RV as much as me, he is getting closer to the idea. Thanks, Mary

How long is a piece of rope? It depends on usage. If you need to pick up/send your mail and maybe take a quick browse at traffic/weather/route then I've found nothing better than http://www.bamnet.com/ - they're highly flexible, efficient and cheap for what you get. Check them out! BTW: I'm not directly associated - just a regular user <g>

Now that sounds interesting. I looked at it pretty fast. I'll have to go back and look a bit closer.

Thanks

What are we talkin about for a start up price. I was thinkin about upgradin to cable. If I could get good coverage on the road also like you say it may be worth it.

Have you thought about using public Libraries? Most library's in the United States have free Internet Access but it depends on the Library. Most have policies that restrict sites(no "adult", obscene, etc.)and downloads to private floppy disc's.(afraid of viruses) Print-outs are a reasonable and nominal fee. Most require you to have a library card, which is usually free for the application. Or sign in on a list.(varies from library to library) Just something to think about!
