It is hard to finance any rv or vehicle under an llc. So pay cash for anything you buy!    We found out the hard way! Debsu 50

I'm lost on the meaning. If we had to pay cash a lot of us would be sitting at home instead of camping. Well, that didn't make sense either. I finaced and am still siting at home

It's late and my eyes are crossed from reading so many posts but I think what she means is "LLC" Limited Liability Corporation. I'm not a Biz Type but isn't that what the folks in Wyoming use to buy motorhomes and pay no taxes..???
Limited Liability, to me, means that if I don't pay you....Too Bad !! :( :(

ironart, I think you hit it. I managed the Limited Corporation, but couldn't remember the Liability part. I think Montana is the state that uses them to attract both Trailer and Motor home buyers. Supposedly you don't pay any state sales tax. From what I've heard you need a lawyer to make sure it works. You might as well pay the sales tax.

Yes,A llc so you are lisened in a state w/ no taxes. As you travel or plan to Banks dont want to lend money.w/ a business that has been started up.w/ no profit ,and the LLC has to be only in the LLC name to get your lisence in that state.,for your vehicle.Just really check it out first ,if you have to finance a vehicle in the llc name. A couple of places will finance motor homes for you in the llc.but not 5th wheels or trucks. Use to do 5th wheels.but not any more.

And then there's the Insurance bite. A LLC is a commercial enterprise and there for the Insurance is like triple. If I keep the DP for 2 1/2 years paying the Washington state tax I break even. But if you are able to self insure then it make sense. And you better say when you insure that it is a LLC or if you have a big claim you won't have coverage.

Just pay your fair share and get on with life.
