m/home gas or diesel

Talking abt. retirement and thinking of 34' with slides. I now have a older gas engine m/home and would like to get some pros and cons on gas and diesel engines. We have kids in Calif., Washington and Vermont and plan to spend winter in Calif. and summers at the other two. I have always heard......Go with a cat diesel engine and it will last forever..........I need some advise from you pros....thanks

Depending on what kind of motor home you buy will govern what engine you get. The Duramax and cat are both good engines.
