We are in the planning stage for full timing. Upon leaving full time employment, we found we could not buy comparable medical insurance because of our age. The subject of our concern is finding doctors that will accept medicare. We are having trouble now, what will it be like when we take up fulltiming soon. We do not have private insurance and have taken out the maximum Plan J medicare supplement through AARP, but that doesn't help when doctors and clinics won't accept us.
The AARP nurse instructs us to go to hopital emergency. How do others handle this? We have perscriptions that have to have a doctor's authorization for refilling. Mamagrams, pap smears, cardiologist, hypertension, etc, etc? We will no longer have a home base.
