I am looking at acquiring a diesel pusher and am looking at NEWMAR, primarily because friend of our have a Mountain Aire and they have had a couple different models and seem to like NEWMAR best. We will not be full time and this will be for fun probably 1 or 2 weeks a month during the spring, summer and fall. My wife and I love to drive and we have rented RV’s previously so we understand the process. We are looking at this for a 7 to 10 year time stretch and want to make the best decisions possible.
We are looking to pay up to $200k and want a TAG Axel so above 40’. I have been exploring Dutchstar and Ventiana since they seem to be the right fit for us. It looks like in our price range I will be looking around 2017-2019.
I have a few questions I would like to pose to this group:
Is it better to get a couple year older DutchStar or a newer Ventiana?
Is the side radiator worth the extra cost?
Is buying a 6-8 year old coach a big concern?
Is getting a 450 hp vs 400hp worth the extra cost? (We will be towing a Jeep most of the time).
Is it worth buying from a dealer vs provide party? Obviously I will get it checked out independently but I do not know if there is value in acquiring from a dealer.
