Non toxic tank deodorizers

Recently my wife and I had a scare with the dogs getting into the campa chem, they did not ingest any but it scared us and now we want to use some non toxic deodorizer, can you guys help us with which stuff works the best? Thanks in Advance.

Some people swear by the 'Geo method' (and some people swear at it :). It is soap, powdered water softener and bleach (which is toxic but sealed in jugs). Other people don't use any chemicals at all (just lots of water) and you can't get any less toxic than that... Probably your best bet would be to go to Camping World and read the labels. Or get a 'safe' to store your favorite chemicals in.

The "Geo method" seems to work and you don't need to use the bleach all the time. I only let the bleach stay in the tanks for about 15 to 30 minutes to sanitize before I dump and then flush with water. Just put a cup of powdered or liquid water softener and a cup of laundry detergent in your tank and leave it till you empty. :bleh:
